The Arts
The Arts are an important part of the fabric of St. Augustine School. The students learn about the history of art and the relationship between great artist, their works, and the effects on the world. The students study techniques and get a chance to develop their talents and interests.
Mrs. Vescera, our art teacher, works with students in grades pre-K through grade 8. Students can experience different techniques that artists have used throughout history to express themselves. An art show is held each spring to display students' artwork.
Mrs. Lamothe, our music teacher teaches weekly music classes (Grades Pre-K - 8) where students learn about the mechanics of music and the art of creativity. Music appreciation, performance, and purposes of music are all explored.
Each year the students participate in a Christmas and Spring concert. Our music department has band, glee (Grades 6-8), and choir for grades three through five. After school instrumental string and band lessons are available through Effman Music for grades K-8.
Mrs. Vescera also instructs our young actors (Grades 4-8) in the drama club, who also perform at the Christmas and Spring concerts.
