Welcome to the St. Augustine School Website!

St. Augustine School enjoys a strong reputation for excellence in Catholic mission and academic achievement where students thrive as members of a true school family.  Our graduates are well-prepared for success in high school and life.

Each day at St. Augustine School, our faculty and staff work diligently to ensure a safe and compassionate environment, and a disciplined, supportive and nurturing culture with high expectations for all.  In the midst of a world full of distractions, St. Augustine School maintains a focus on teaching responsibility and respect, and provides opportunities for students to grow as faithful, academically prepared, well-rounded, happy and healthy young people.  Students are called to new heights of learning, character and leadership, while always given the support they need to reach their full potential.

Peter Shaughnessy, Principal

Mr. Shaughnessy resides in Fairhaven, MA with his wife and four children.  He has twenty-four years of experience in education, including seventeen as an administrator. Mr. Shaughnessy holds the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English Literature from Canisius College; Master of Theological Studies and Master of Pastoral Studies from Loyola University Chicago; Master of Education in Administration and Leadership from Benedictine University; and a Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE).
